Cider Pressing Day 1

The trees are loaded. This year we’ll do two consecutive Saturdays and we’ll start a bit earlier to avoid the heat and the yellow jackets. We’ll be picking, sorting and pressing the apples from 10 mature apple trees. Ginger Golds are a mild, sweet yellow green apple that ripen early but do not store well. Gotta use em while you can! They are excellent for juice, apple chips and apple sauce. The press is a small all-in-one style press with a grinder and pressing baskets. Bring your own containers to save or use mine—I have half gallon foil pouches, excellent for freezing.
