Clay Endearments are small sculptures for the altar or wall that speak to the heart in some way. This work is hand sculpted and bisque fired, then sent through the intense process of raku where it is pulled blazing hot from an 1800 degree kiln, then smothered in combustibles. Thermal shock creates cracks which are filled with carbon from the combustibles Like our hearts these pieces survive more or less intact, weathered but with more character from the distress.
